I was contacted for an interview and went through phone and on-site stages. As I was transitioning from academia to business with a Ph.D. in machine learning, DataXu seemed to not see my potential. The interviewers I met on-site were more junior than me, asked basic questions, and couldn't really get my answers or relate. They didn't even try to understand my thought process, past work, or achievements. In the end, they said I seemed too junior, appreciating my eagerness to learn adtech, which felt very immature. I'm glad I didn't end up working there. Hopefully, DataXu has improved its interviewing process to better reflect the data science job market. If you have a statistics background, it might be a good fit for you, given the management's stats focus.

I was contacted by the recruiter, then had a technical discussion with the team leader. This was followed by a test regarding solving some data science problems. I then went to the last step of interviewing with the team. There are around 6 rounds and I talked to different people from the team and the company. They are all friendly and guided me on some questions. The whole process was smooth and I got quick responses at each step. The recruiter is professional and helpful.
