Network Engineer
A Dataprise recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn. We did a 30-minute phone interview, and they asked a TON of 'tell me about a time when you...' type questions, pretty much the same one with small tweaks. I started to run out of examples. Then, I went in for an in-person interview with two different people. First, I talked to someone who grilled me on technical stuff. Then, I met with the hiring manager, and it was a more laid-back chat. I guess I passed the tests, and they were just seeing if my personality fit. After that, I believe there was a background check before the offer.
- Can you share an instance where a task or project didn't proceed as planned?
- Describe a situation where something didn't go according to your plan.
- Tell me about a project that didn't work out.
Network Engineer
The interview wasn't too bad, but also wasn't very thorough. I was asked one technical question by the two people I spoke with. The last person I talked to assured me they call everyone back within 48 hours to let them know their decision one way or the other but it has been over a month and I haven't heard back. If you have interviewed for them and weren't selected, I suspect the same happened to you as well.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Network Engineer
I was appalled by the negativity in my interview. This in-person interview was a follow-up to a phone interview with another engineer, who had spoken highly of them. Why would Dataprise waste my time and their own time if they didn't take me seriously from the beginning? I have nearly a decade of experience, numerous recommendations and commendations, and I was treated as if I had just walked out of college with no experience whatsoever. Dataprise claims to focus on customer service, but if this is their definition of "customer service", I wouldn't want to be one of their clients!
