Director
It was a casual process overall. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, and I had a phone screen with them. Then, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, there were three rounds of onsite interviews, though usually it's just two. They were good at scheduling my time for the different stages. Everyone I talked to, from recruiting to the interviewers, was friendly. They were also transparent about where I stood throughout the process.

The interview process had 2 phone screens and a 3 hour in-person meeting with different employees. I had one of the phone screens with my potential supervisor. I wasn't too impressed with that call. When I got the invite for the in-person, I decided to go in person to double check my gut feeling, since he would be one of the people I would meet. I was at the office for almost 3 hours and liked 2 of the 4 conversations. The chat with the potential boss confirmed my initial feeling that it wouldn't be a good fit. That's okay, it happens, I'll move on. My issue is that I spent a lot of time talking with this company, including coming on site. The company didn't say anything after the interviews - complete silence. This is not an acceptable recruiting practice. It's rude, disrespectful, and just bad for business. Candidates are stakeholders, and treating them badly is bad for business. As an HR professional, I know there's no excuse for this.
- Could you tell me about any HR programs you've implemented or contributed to?
- Tell me about HR programs you have put in place or helped to put in place as part of an HR team.
Director
Setting up interviews with them takes weeks, which is awful. It feels like they don't care if they fill the position. The first round is with the CTO, and the second is a panel of three (Product, data, and someone who didn't show). The Product person was late, and the panel asked questions that weren't really about quality. They focused on my experience, even asking about things over a decade ago. It seemed like they weren't prepared and were just winging it. I wasn't impressed with their leads; it was just an awful interview experience overall.
- Tell me about your most embarrassing moment and how you handled it.
