First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DAT Solutions.
Software Engineer
The interview started with a recruiter call. After getting feedback, I moved on to the next parts: a manager interview where we discussed concepts without coding, then a take-home API endpoint project I had a week to finish. After that, there was a 90-minute code review session. Finally, a 45-minute interview wrapped things up. The whole thing felt long and messy, with some interviewers seeming unprepared. It felt disorganized and not standardized. Be ready to spend a lot of time on this.
- Discussed scalability and maintainability.
Software Engineer
I had a recruiter call first, then a video call with the hiring manager. After that, I went for an on-site interview which was a group thing with 3 people and included live coding.
- Given a code sample, what improvements would you suggest?
Senior Software Engineer
First up was a half hour call with HR. Then I had a quick 45 min chat with the hiring manager, it was pretty laid back. After that, we did an hour long group interview with some of the folks I might be working with. They asked about my past work, how I'd design systems, and some general stuff to see what I know technically.
- Can you share some technical challenges you encountered when dealing with large datasets?
- Describe your current company's approach to continuous integration and code testing.
- In an ideal scenario, how would you implement continuous integration and code testing?
