First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dashlane.
Software Engineer
I passed the initial tech and system design interviews. I studied the Dashlane product and their support docs before getting rejected after the final interview by the hiring team. They liked talking to me during the process, but they don't actually need competent people, just those who can talk nonsense. Don't apply to these kinds of companies; they're a joke pretending to be FAANG.
- Could you implement the game of life algorithm, given a partially completed version?
- Can you design a simplified version of the Dashlane password manager?
Software Engineer
It was a pretty typical interview process. Started with a recruiter screen, then a chat with the hiring manager. After that, there was a live coding session, a systems design discussion, and a culture fit interview. Everyone I talked to was really nice and helpful. In the technical parts, they were more interested in how I approached the problems than getting every single detail perfect.
- Complete the partially written code for Conway's game of life.
Software Engineer
The interview process was very professional. They were clear about expectations and what the process entailed. The hiring manager interview was enjoyable. The two technical rounds were challenging, with the first involving Javascript async programming with callbacks and the second being a Leetcode medium matrix question. Each of the technical rounds had two interviewers. The interviews weren't overly difficult, I just didn't perform well. It seems like a solid company that treats interviewees well and offers a fair and challenging process.
- Javascript challenge based on callbacks.
- DS/A round with Leetcode type questions.
