The interview process was really smooth. It started with an HR chat, then I met with the Head of Department, and the final stage was a case study with the HoD. Everyone I met was super welcoming and friendly during the interviews, and they even gave feedback.

I went through a screening interview for a CSM position at Darktrace that felt more like a test than a chat. They asked me a lot about the company instead of telling me about it, making it feel like an exam. The next interview with the hiring manager got off to a rough start. Right away, she said my experience didn't fit the job, and I felt pretty rejected. Then I had to do a 10-minute case study, followed by 20 minutes of criticism. It was more of a review than a helpful talk. It's weird to invite someone to the second round if the team already thinks they aren't a good fit. The whole thing was really disappointing and discouraging.

Behavioral Presentation

The whole thing took about 2-3 weeks. First, a recruiter call, then a chat with a team lead, followed by a meeting with the director. The final step was an in-person interview with a panel of three people where I had to give a presentation on a topic of my choice. The first few interviews were great, everyone seemed really into it, trying to sell me on the company and the role. The director even pushed me to the final round right then and there. But then things went south for the in-person part. The same people from earlier interviews seemed completely disinterested, like they just wanted to wrap it up. A couple of them even left early, one even walked out mid-sentence to take a client call, which was super awkward and unprofessional, especially after I'd prepped so much and traveled for hours. They even skipped the scheduled tour. It felt like a bait-and-switch with their personalities; they came off as rude and condescending, not interested at all. I suspect they do this to hit quotas and might have already picked someone. It was a confusing experience overall. They seemed genuinely excited at first, said I was a good fit, and invited me for the in-person. But once I got there, it was a total 180. It really messed with my confidence, but honestly, I'm glad I didn't end up there.
