Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Darigold.
Lab Technician
I had a phone chat with HR first, then went for an in-person interview at the facility with the managers. The whole thing was super easy and quick. They were really clear about what they needed and what the job was like. The HR person was great, always got back to me fast when I had questions.
- What's the reason for leaving your current job?
Lab Technician
They asked general questions like any other interview. Situational questions about what you will do on the job. Questions about certain things on the resume and whether they are relevant to the job.
- What would you do in scenario X?
- How would you handle conflicts between yourself and the factory floor?
- Could you explain why Y is on your resume?
Maintenance Technician
I interviewed with two people at Sunnyside Darigold. One was an engineer/production manager, and the other was the lead maintenance supervisor. They asked me about my greatest weakness. Both seemed pleasant, but near the end of my interview, I asked for clarification about the 12-hour rotating shifts. The maintenance supervisor/boiler operator became angry and snapped at me, saying, "I explained it once already and I am not doing it again!" Be careful with this company; don't leave a semi-good job and end up with angry people.
- What is your greatest weakness?
