Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Daniels Health.
Business Development
The interview process was quite lengthy. It began with an initial interview and a "competency testing" that took place over a single day. After the first interview, I was informed I'd be advancing to the next stage and that I had to complete the testing before meeting the next person. The competency test was timed and very mentally taxing. As someone with a disability, I was concerned about my performance because I need extra time for such assessments. I contacted the recruiter after the test, explaining my symptomatic condition and requesting another opportunity with additional time. He replied that I performed exceptionally well and they would be in touch soon. This was back in November, and as of January, I've received an email stating they've decided not to proceed with my application. In my view, their process was ableist and disorganized.
- Tell me about your experience with leadership.
- What are your goals regarding targets?
- Can you answer some standard Business Development interview questions?
Business Development
The interview process felt really long and it seemed like they weren't sure what they were looking for in a candidate. I got a red flag that the business might operate in a similar way. Some questions felt like traps, and I thought a couple were unethical. It's not a good way to attract top talent.
- What sparked your interest in this particular role?
Business Development Director
The interview process was pretty thorough, maybe a bit long, but it gave me a good chance to chat with lots of important people, even some C-suite folks. I got a clear picture of the job and what it takes to do well at Daniels Health. Even though it was a few steps, I felt kept in the loop the whole time. The recruiter was great at keeping me informed, which made the experience positive. Even though it didn't work out for this specific role, I'd definitely consider interviewing with them again.
- How do you define success in your current position?
