Behavioral Technical Case

I applied online for the Associate Consultant role in Mexico City. About three weeks later, I had a first-approach interview to check if I was a good fit. It was straightforward, no case studies, just discussing my experience and its relevance to Dalberg's work. I was told in that same call that I'd passed to the case interview stage. This stage had two rounds, with two case interviews in each round. You had to pass the first round to proceed to the second. The first round cases were with senior consultants, and the second round involved interviews with the Mexico City director and a partner from New York. The process was tough, and the cases were difficult. You really need to know the development sector well to create good proposals. Each case interview involved 3-4 questions about my background, challenges, personality, and passion for development, followed by a 30-40 minute case exercise. The math was simple, mostly percentages. One tough case involved analyzing a table, but I think I messed up due to nerves rather than the difficulty. It was an exciting and educational experience, though I didn't get the job, and they couldn't provide feedback when I asked.

Got shortlisted for the interview process a few hours after sending in my application, although the actual Skype interview took quite a while to happen. Following that the second round interview in person took another 2 weeks. I thought both the interviews for fairly easy as I solved both the cases correctly, but I didn't make it past the second round and never got any feedback as to what was wrong with my candidature.

Submitted my resume and cover letter online and answered a few questions. Then, I had a Skype screening with 4 questions covering verbal communication, writing, and math. It was pretty easy. If I passed, I moved on to case and fit interviews. I got through one round of case interviews but was eliminated in the next because I messed up the math, so practice mental math. There are about 4-5 case rounds total at Dalberg.
