First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Daiichi Sankyo.
Sales Representative
I applied through career builder and then had a phone interview where we talked through my resume. HR called the following week for a face to face interview. In that interview, I went over my brag book and resume and answered about 8 or 9 behavioral questions. Two critical parts of the interview process are answering in STAR format and always having a strong close for every interview. You need a strong close to advance. After that, I was told there would be a second face-to-face interview and HR would contact me. In the second F2F, I had more behavioral questions and did a mock sales call. They said I had a final interview with the territory manager. In that last interview, we went over my resume and brag book in detail, plus a few behavioral questions. I also brought a 90-day business plan, my driving record, and a transcript, as instructed. I got a job offer 20 minutes after leaving.
- Can you describe a challenging situation you faced at work and explain how you dealt with it?
- Tell me about a difficult situation you encountered in your job and how you managed to overcome it.
Sales Representative
After getting referred by an employee, I had an initial phone call where we discussed my background and sales performance. This led to a face-to-face meeting with the hiring manager, which was a really thorough 2-hour session. We went over my resume in detail and every part of my brag book, giving me a great chance to show off my skills and achievements. It was a bit draining, but I felt good about it and was invited to the next stage. Unfortunately, after not hearing back for two weeks, I emailed the hiring manager and got an automated reply saying they were moving forward with other candidates. It was pretty disappointing because I thought the interview went well, I have solid sales experience in the TA space, and good results to show for it. I was hoping for some actual feedback.
- What is your understanding of our company?
- What can you tell me about the territory you'd be assigned?
- What is your knowledge of the US healthcare industry?
Sales Representative
The interview process kicked off with an initial phone screen. The first interview was with the District Manager (DM) where they just went over my resume. The second interview included the DM and another rep, and it focused on standard pharma behavioral questions. The final interview was with the Regional Director (RD), who was pretty tough to read. Luckily, the RD has since left the company, and I've heard the process is a bit easier now.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Describe your biggest failure and your biggest success.
- Imagine you need to sell a product to the hiring manager.
