Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at D. E. Shaw India.
Business Analyst
The interview process started with an aptitude test, then I had to send in 3 video answers, and after that there were 2 interview rounds. Everything went smoothly, but I never found out why I didn't get selected after the last interview.
- Can you share something you regret doing?
Business Analyst
I got referred for the role and an HR person called me quickly. Then the hiring manager for the team I'd be joining did a phone screen with me. After I passed that, I was invited to their Hyderabad campus for 3 more interviews. I interviewed with a team member, the dev manager, and my potential future manager. They focused on my business knowledge and my past experience, looking for candidates with strong domain expertise and in-depth systems understanding.
- How would you investigate a problem with the P&L statement in the current accounting system?
Business Systems Analyst
The interview had a screening round over the phone, and then they called me for an on-site interview. The on-site interviews consisted of just one round. They wanted to see if I was a good fit and if my past experience was relevant. The interviewers were pretty relaxed, and the whole experience at DE Shaw's Hyderabad office was really memorable.
- Tell me about your experience with risk management.
- What are your thoughts on introducing new products?
