It was a recruiter screen first. I'm a .NET engineer, but they scheduled a C++ interview even though I said I didn't have C++ experience. There were two interviewers for the C++ round. They were so arrogant; they asked one question and decided I knew nothing. It felt insulting, like they were on an ego trip with smirks on their faces. The recruiter ghosted me after I tried to get feedback, especially since the job was for .NET, not C++. Is this just an ego boost for interviews?

The interview process took a whole day. First, there was an online assessment a week before the online webcam-based Mettl test. After that, it was face-to-face at the Kochi office. I came in the morning, and the interview ended at 8 pm. There were 3-4 rounds of technical interviews. Based on technical skills, I had to write or implement OOPS concepts using paper and pen with an example, write SQL queries (mainly subquery and join based, medium level hardness), and answer technical questions from Javascript based on my resume, academic project discussion, and a lot of puzzle brain buster questions. It ended at night 8 pm, having started in the morning around 10:30 am.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Demonstrate inheritance and Oops concepts with an example implementation.
  • Write SQL queries focusing on joins and subqueries.
  • Answer Javascript questions covering promises, async, and related topics.

I applied for the Software Engineer position at Cyncly and the HR team called me back the very next day. The first technical interview had JavaScript/React snippet outputs, DSA, OOPs, and a coding question about my problem-solving approach. The second technical-managerial interview involved scenario-based questions, more snippet outputs, a discussion about my projects, and code optimization. Finally, there was an HR round to talk about my experience and relocation. The whole process was pretty smooth and organized, and I got an offer in the end.
