Had a phone screen first with the hiring manager, then went in for an in-person panel interview. There were 6 people on the panel. They asked me technical questions based on my resume, covering mechanical engineering and optics, and also some behavioral questions about my past experience.

I applied online, and then after a few phone calls, I flew out to San Diego for the interviews. Cymer really dropped the ball on reimbursing me for my rental car though. I sent in all the paperwork they asked for, and after months of back and forth emails, they still haven't paid me back. It was pretty rude and not what I expected from Cymer at all.

The interview was pretty good overall. The interviewer was half an hour late. They asked both general and coding questions, but they weren't too difficult. First, I had a chat with HR about my background. Then, I had two calls with their engineering team, and they set up a technical interview.
