Support Worker
I had a Zoom interview with the manager and possibly a social worker. The questions were tough and probing. It's important to show common sense, initiative, and how you can use your past work and personal experiences to answer. Make sure to elaborate on your answers instead of giving brief responses. A positive and bubbly personality is key, and demonstrating empathy and compassion is essential for this role. I'm really looking forward to starting!
- Can you share an instance from your life where you exceeded expectations to help someone?
Support Worker
The interview was led by the clinical manager and a senior support worker. It felt relaxed and the questions were in-depth, almost like a conversation. Even though they had prepared questions, there was ample opportunity to explain things in detail.
- Can you share an experience where you had a challenging relationship with a coworker and describe how you managed the situation?
Support Worker
after applying online i was given a phone call interview which lasted about 10-15 minutes that just asked general questions. I was emailed a time and date for a face to face interview with the location and some questions to think about beforehand. i needed to click the link and fill out some additional details such as work history and medical conditions. at the interview i had to wait for 25 minutes past my time on the email as they had given two people the same time and told me i was late, although my email definitely said the time i thought. The interviewer was very very rude, having a short tone and looking visibly annoyed every time i answered a question correctly. i felt very unwelcomed and though she had something against me due to my age (18 with no previous professional experience although i do have personal experience and this was mentioned). she also asked a question which was not on the sheet which was "since you’re 18 and have no life experience, how do you think you’ll deal with situations that might scare you" which i felt was very rude as she is not a defining factor on whether or not you have experienced mental health issues. 5 days later they phoned me to offer me the job, which i was happy to decline after meeting the awful manager.
- What would you do if you thought one of your co-workers was acting inappropriately?
