First, I had a chat with HR. Then, I met with two programmers. They started by telling me about the team, and then I talked about myself. After that, they gave me an exercise. Finally, I had 10 minutes to ask questions.

I had an initial call with HR. Then, I had my first interview, which was a System Design interview split into two parts: explaining a project I developed and a question about tracking files in S3. My second interview was a coding challenge where I had to write an algorithm to allocate compute resources among various customers. I found the coding question quite obscure, which I wasn't a fan of. However, the interviewers were pleasant and knowledgeable. In the end, the recruiter informed me that I didn't get the job.

The initial stages of the interview went well. However, things took an unusual turn when I was questioned about skills not listed in the job description and that don't seem relevant to any computer science role, nor were they mentioned during the technical screen. Despite investing significant time and effort into preparing a mock QBR and practicing for the technical tests, I only received a generic rejection. My follow-up for more specific feedback to aid my professional development went unanswered, leaving me with a feeling of having been fortunate to even get that far.
