First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Custom Ink.
Production Associate
After applying, I received a call about two weeks later. They invited me for an interview the very next day. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the head of the hiring department. We had a relaxed conversation for about 30 minutes, and it felt positive. Afterwards, I took a tour and met some of the current employees, who all seemed upbeat. The final hour involved a one-on-one review of my resume with two individuals who intensely scrutinized my work history, questioning my qualifications for an entry-level manufacturing position. It felt like they were verbally attacking me.
- Regarding your transition from food service after only 14 months, how do you justify this move and address concerns about your dedication?
- Given your work history, can you provide further details and justification?
- What specific qualifications do you possess for an entry-level manufacturing role?
Production Associate
I had three interviews and got to see the production floor. The first was a 15-minute phone call since they just changed how they screen people. They scheduled me for an in-person interview right after. The building is nice and feels welcoming. My second interviewer was the same person from the phone call; she was informative and positive. This first in-person meeting was the easiest, not nerve-wracking. After about 30 minutes, she passed me off to another person who gave me a tour. He explained everything, from picking shirts to getting them ready for shipping. Lastly, I met with two hiring managers for the third interview. This was the most challenging part, and I even admitted I was nervous, but they were friendly and reassured me. They asked questions about reliability, teamwork, and my work ethic. I got all my questions answered, and it was an enjoyable process.
- Have you ever received negative feedback on your work?
Production Associate
Applied and had a 20-minute phone interview, then moved on to an in-person interview. The in-person part had three parts: a site tour, an interview with two people in a small room, and a timed performance test. It was pretty tough. I was upset afterwards because they mentioned employees are expected to report co-workers for mistakes. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt though, thinking it was just a long day and I scheduled the interview late after my current job. I sent a handwritten thank you note, and then followed up with an email a couple of weeks later about my application status, but they never got back to me.
- What are your thoughts on documenting a coworker's mistake in their official record if you witness misconduct?
