The interview process was a blast! The only hiccup was the pre-screen interview. The HR person missed our first scheduled meeting, so I had to book a second one. During the second attempt for my pre-screen, they called at the wrong time, even though my email confirmation indicated otherwise, and they blamed me. But the in-person interviews were fantastic, and the people I met were so enjoyable to chat with! I left the meetings feeling like I was already part of the team, it was very welcoming. They mainly assess if you can get along with the team and your personality, alongside your experience.

I was working with a great staffing agency that prepped me for the interview. I felt ready. The interview itself was chill, easy, and comfortable. The interviewer was nice and reassuring, making me feel like a welcome guest. They made it seem like I had the job and fit right in. Looking back, it felt staged, like a performance. I took the job offer right away. But in my first week, I felt misled. The training was less than two days from the experienced receptionist. She knew all the ins and outs of keeping staff happy and the office running. There were so many procedures, employee preferences, orders, sales, calls, and weird demands from the veteran agents who had seniority. I almost got fired for not knowing a guy expected his mail hand-delivered instead of from his slot. He found it later, but the mocking and demeaning comments lasted for weeks. I never felt clear on expectations, tasks, or who to ask for help. I hated the job but tried my best. Then, a young woman who seemed to be the only other receptionist (who interviewed me months ago and I never saw again) asked for the interviewer. Apparently, her job involved not standing or walking unless interviewing a new receptionist. I knew then it was over. That evening, my staffing agency called to say I didn't need to come in the next day, without even telling me they'd let me go.

We start with a prescreen, then there's a case study and writing samples, followed by an interview, and then a panel interview. After that, it's likely an offer, or maybe another round of interviewing if needed.
