The interview was very friendly, it didn't feel like an interview, it felt more like a chat. They responded quickly after the interview. The questions asked were easy to answer, although having been in the job for a while I can see that this interview style often does not work in the company's favour.

Behavioral Case

The hiring process was pretty straightforward. After applying, I got a call from the manager to set up an in-person interview. Most of their questions were scenario-based, directly related to the job, not generic questions like 'describe yourself.' So, it's important to know what it's like to work in this kind of environment. After the interview, I got an email saying I wasn't successful, but a few days later, the manager called and offered me the job, which was a nice surprise. There's a lot of training when you start, and they throw a lot of information at you. Your pay increases based on passing tests/quizzes and attending training days. It's also very target-driven; you always have goals to meet and are reviewed regularly. Underperforming puts a lot of pressure on you, which can get to you if you're not a natural salesperson who can make those add-ons, but everyone has good and bad weeks.

I applied online and got a phone screen within about a week. They mentioned a 1:1 interview, but I waited 3 weeks and almost gave up hope before they finally called to schedule it. I went in for the interview, which was about 2 hours long. The manager explained the '5 minutes to impress' part was just an icebreaker. Then they gave me a notebook and pen and let me go talk to the staff on the shop floor for about half an hour, and they were all really nice and helpful. After that, I went back to the manager's office for some competency-based questions. Then I went back out to the shop floor to interact with staff and customers again. Finally, I had to pretend to sell the manager a laptop that doesn't exist, and then they went over the pay details. I'm waiting to hear back.
