Customer Consultant
Received an email for an interview, had to book a time slot. Thought it would be a group interview but it was actually a one-on-one with a manager. The interview was held at a hotel in conference rooms. They gave us a sheet with info on two phones, tariffs, and broadband networks, and we had 20 minutes to review it before our interview. Everyone was nice, not a stressful process. Some interviews were at tables in the hallway, but mine was in a meeting room. They asked general questions, then we did a role-play of 'sell me a phone', followed by some basic competency questions. The manager yawned during my interview, which I think was because they'd been interviewing since 9am and it was now 3:30pm, likely for many different stores. After the interview, the manager walked me back to the main person in charge, who took my details. I was glad they did, as the person before me didn't have their details taken.

Customer Consultant
It was an hour long assessment. We had a get to know you session with other candidates, then a one on one interview where I had to do a sales demo of my own phone and answer questions about past experiences. They also asked me to research the company, Carphone Warehouse, beforehand.
- In the group session, we were asked what animal we would be, which was a bit bizarre and I struggled to find an interesting answer.
- Can you demonstrate selling your own mobile phone?
- Tell me about your past experiences.
Customer Consultant
First, we had a casual chat so they could get to know me. Then came some multi-part questions about competencies: like teamwork, curiosity, working towards tough goals, past customer interactions, and persuasion. Finally, there was a brief role-play where I had to explain three contracts and sell them to a supposed customer.
- Can you share some information about yourself?
- Can you tell me about a time you worked effectively as part of a team?
- Describe an instance where you demonstrated curiosity and a desire to learn.
