Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Curriculum Associates.
Product Marketing Associate
The interview started with a recruiter email, then a panel interview, followed by a performance task and several one-on-one interviews. It got weird when the final interviewer suggested I'd be a better fit for a different, unlisted role. After waiting weeks, I interviewed with the hiring manager again, only to have to restart the entire process and complete another four-hour performance task, identical to the first one. They got 8 hours of free work from me, stringed me along, put me through 10 interview rounds, pitched me on two different positions, and then emailed to say they hired someone else for both.

Product Marketing Manager
I was initially contacted by the CEO on LinkedIn. After that, HR followed up with a phone screen. Then I was invited to their Billerica office for a 5-hour interview session, plus commuting time, with multiple people. After sending thank you notes and following up, I only heard back from one person I spoke with, and HR never responded. I've heard from others that this is a common experience with Curriculum Associates - they spend time interviewing and preparing projects, only to receive no response or follow-up. Some have mentioned that CA has admitted to sometimes just 'inviting people in to check out who's out there...' which I found misleading and a bit underhanded. My advice to anyone considering an opportunity here is to try and figure out how serious they are about hiring for the role and the time commitment involved, otherwise, for me, it felt like a waste of a vacation day given the commute, prep, and interview time.
- Can you describe a time you were successful?
- Can you share an example of a failure?
- How do you approach working with sales teams?
Product Marketing Associate
My interview process started with a phone screen with the department director. Then, I had a short writing assignment. The process wrapped up with two final interviews over Zoom with the department manager and a VP. Everyone was very nice and seemed really interested in getting to know me and how I work.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
- Could you give me a pitch for your current product?
- What's your approach to working and learning remotely?
