The interview process was smooth until the end. There was 1 hiring manager involved, and it consisted of 3 rounds covering System Design, Leadership, and Team aspects. It was a bit unprofessional to receive an automated rejection email after completing 4 rounds. The organization should provide detailed feedback on why the candidate was not selected. Despite following up with the recruiter multiple times and receiving assurances, no feedback was ever provided. If the process is so automated, perhaps hire AI bots instead. It's disrespectful to the candidate who invested their time in the interviews and progressed so far.

So I had this screening call, it lasted about 45 minutes. Then, there was a gap before HR got back to me. After that, I went through two coding rounds, one system design round, and a final behavioral interview. I felt pretty good about the coding and problem-solving parts, but the system design round was just okay. Even though I made it all the way to the last behavioral stage, they ended up hiring someone else. I'm not sure their feedback was totally accurate, felt more like an excuse, so it wasn't very useful.

Behavioral Technical

It was a pretty bad interview experience. I had an initial screening with the recruiter who said I was 'the best applicant so far.' After that, things weren't great. I had a 30-minute call with the hiring manager, which I don't think is enough time. The questions were pretty weak and didn't add much to the interview. They were mostly basic competency questions that I answered fully and even elaborated on because they weren't challenging. I was only left with 3 minutes at the end to ask questions. I could only ask one question before the hiring manager said he had another call to get to (again, 30 minutes isn't sufficient). I didn't get much detail about the role or responsibilities, and my experience wasn't explored in depth. It felt like the hiring manager was looking for a 'yes man.' The whole interview was strange, and it makes sense why this role hasn't been filled for over a month at a company that's doing reasonably well. I was told I'd get feedback within 2 days, but I haven't heard anything. They said the interview would be two-way, but it wasn't, and taking time out of my day for basic Q&A could have been avoided if I knew this beforehand.

Behavioral Technical Other

My interview experience with Currencycloud was super positive. It's a detailed process with several stages, so it's not for the easily discouraged, but I really liked this approach. My first chat was with a Talent Coach, who was nice, helpful, and really open to all my questions. Then I talked to the hiring manager, who was also really welcoming and answered my questions as much as asked them. After that, I had a discussion with two colleagues I'd be working with if I got the job; this was my favorite part because I got to hear directly from the people doing the actual work, which I thought was a really cool thing for potential hires. The last interview was supposed to be with the VP and Head of the department. Sadly, one of the leaders got sick right before, but the manager who was still able to make it carried on with the interview, and it was just as good an experience as the talks before. All my discussions were about a week apart, and I found out if I was moving on to the next step within a couple of hours after each one.
