First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CT Business Consulting.
Marketing Assistant
It was a 3 part interview process. The first interview was with one person who explained the job responsibilities and explained the process. The second part of the interview was a shadow day where interviewees were able to observe a team member during the full work day. Due to a training session within the company, the second part of the interview was slightly changed and instead of shadowing someone within the company, the interviewees met the team and then had a meeting with the president of the company who explained (in great detail) the job and its responsibilities as well as answering all of our questions. The third part of the interview process was a meeting with the president where any lingering questions were answered.
- Would you be open to traveling for conferences and training?
Client Care Representative
The initial interview was good, no sales talk. Then there was an 8-hour unpaid group interview, super awkward. Over 20 people, and the owner just bragged about himself and picked favorites. I was ignored even though I was dressed professionally. He mentioned marijuana a lot. Then we went out in cars to make sales, signing people up for electric providers. The person I shadowed committed fraud, telling people their rate wouldn't change when it would, calling it "rate protection" and not explaining they were changing providers. The company also packed cars with 7 people when they only fit 5. When we got back, there was more favoritism and some people were cut. I deliberately gave bogus answers on the last questionnaire, but they still called me raving about wanting to hire me. No way, I'm not okay with fraud.
- What is more important to you, waiting?
Account Executive
The first interview was super brief, I was asked maybe 3-4 questions and it took less than 10 minutes. The second interview was called a 'shadow day' and there were warmup games, meeting with what seemed like the whole staff and a sit down session with the manager. The 3rd interview was more of a job offer, over the phone.
- What is your desired start date?
Digital Marketing Associate
I applied and within 24 hours, I got a call from them who were super excited to set up an in-person interview. I should have known better but I proceeded. After some digging, I realized it was likely an MLM or pyramid scheme based on reviews. So, I bailed on the interview right away because I wasn't going to get caught in that again.
