Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CSU Long Beach.
Student Worker
After submitting my application, I had a review with 3 staff members. Then, I had an interview where they asked me questions, and they got back to me shortly after. The whole thing took about 2 hours of going over questions and answers. It felt pretty formal, with a lot of employees there, both above and below the main supervisor I was talking to.
- Have you ever assembled a computer?
Student Assistant
The interview was about assessing your skills and availability.
- Are you able to commit to working here for a long time?
Student Assistant
You first apply online through the job posting on beachlink, ASI, and 49ers jobs. Each site requires you to fill out their employment form and submit a resume. Sometimes a cover letter is also requested. After submission, the employer reviews your application. If they are interested, they will call you for an interview. The interview itself is a relaxed process.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
