First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CSC.
Software Engineer
First, there was a phone screening with talent acquisition. Then, the team did a resume screening. After that, I interviewed with several senior software engineers. The talent acquisition person was nice, but the interviews with the senior software engineers were not so good. It involved one easy Leetcode problem and then a lot of behavioral questions.
- Can you share an instance of a failure you experienced?
Software Engineer
So basically there are three ways to get in - Campus placements, Off-Campus recruitment, and Referrals. For off-campus, they only consider students from reputed colleges. They also have a good employee referral program. First, you have to prepare for a written test covering C, C++, DS, DBMS, Networking Basics, Hardware (mainly 8085/8086), and Digital electronics. The eligibility is 60% throughout X, XII and 65-70%+ in Graduation (B.E/B.Tech in Computer Sc., IT, Electronics, Electrical and MCA). The written test has an aptitude section (Quant, Verbal, LR) and a technical section with questions from the topics mentioned. After that, there are three interview rounds, all of which are elimination rounds. The first is a technical interview, which is generally similar to the written exam questions. I was lucky to have a cool interviewer, but some people get grilled. The last round is the HR round, which can be tough, and I unfortunately wasn't that lucky in this one.
- Can you tell me about the projects you worked on during your internship?
Software Engineer
HR from Delaware reached out first. Then I had two phone interviews with developers. After that, there was an onsite technical interview over Skype with some senior developers from Delaware. The interview process was fun, and we talked about the architecture and coding decisions for a made-up product.
- Can you tell me about your general knowledge of the .Net Framework?
- How would you implement credit card processing while staying within PCI scope?
- Let's walk through the architecture and coding decisions for a fictional product.
