First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Crowell & Moring.
Summer Associate
I went through two rounds of interviews. First, there was a screener call with someone from their attorney recruiting team, who isn't an attorney themselves. Then, I had four separate 30-minute interviews with attorneys across different levels – partner, counsel, and associate. Everyone was really nice, and it was a back-and-forth where they asked me questions and I also got to ask them things.
- What draws you to our firm?
- Are there any concerns you have about our firm?
- Describe your time management approach.
Associate
The interview lasted a total of 6 hours. I met with both partners and associates, some from my target practice group and others from the recruiting committee. The partners in the practice group almost offered me the job on the spot, giving me every reason to believe I would get good news. However, once I got home, I received an email from HR, sent during my interview, stating that I was rejected.
- Were your foreign language skills tested?
Summer Associate
Had a screener call with a recruiter first, then I had a panel interview where I met four lawyers - two associates and two partners. They tried to figure out which practice groups would fit my interests best. The interviews were remote, but they did say there was an option for in-person interviews if you were located near the office.
- Which law school class did you like the most?
