I submitted my documents and had a phone interview, then an in-person interview. After that, there were multiple emails exchanged to gather documents for livescan, a TB test, and identification. They offered me employment contingent on finishing my hiring packet, which I did. Once they had my complete hiring packet, they revoked their job offer, even though I have nothing on my record that would deter them from hiring me. The email stated they would reimburse me for the livescan and TB test and told me to reapply when I had more 'experience'. However, they stopped answering my emails and calls once I asked them to explain why they chose not to hire me and forwarded them my receipts.

It was a super easy interview process with really professional staff. If you don't have your sub permit, they can start you off as a paraprofessional or a teacher's aide while it's getting processed. You can apply right on their website, and they'll call you to set up an interview. My interview was a really positive experience. Their hiring requirements are a bit longer compared to other staffing agencies, but the schools I work with tell me they prefer calling Direct Ed over others because DirectEd has a really strong pool of substitute teachers.
