Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cross Country.
Recruiter
The recruiter reached out to set up an interview with a panel. It was a pleasant process, and everyone seemed to have good input. It was a casual interview, but it got a bit strange when the panel started discussing their own projects, which were unrelated to the interview. When I asked about working hours, they said it's normal to work 12-hour days, without giving a specific answer. The pay was very low (40k base) for a recruiting role, especially for the supposed 60-hour weeks. I had a bad feeling after leaving but tried to stay open-minded. I had a negative interaction with the recruiter when I requested an extension on their offer, which came less than a week after our initial call.
- Can you sell me on your previous work experiences?
Staffing Coordinator
I found this job posting online and submitted my resume. The manager called me, gave me a quick overview of the job, and discussed the schedule. She checked if I was alright with the pay, job duties, and schedule, which I confirmed. After that, she invited me for an interview. I interviewed with the day shift manager and then with my direct manager, which were two separate meetings.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in a Staffing Coordinator position?
Staffing Consultant
You'll interview with HR and the team VP. They'll have you come in on different days to see how serious you are about the job. Having contacts in the previous owner's church will pretty much guarantee you get the job offer. There are no skills tests, but there is a drug test.
