Store Manager
The interview process was the most simplest I've been on so far. I applied online and received an email from Crocs a couple of days later. They wanted to schedule a phone interview with me. The phone interview is easy if you have retail experience and have worked as a manager in the past. It was a conference call with the recruiter, store manager, and district manager. All three of them asked me a total of 5 questions each and each question had a follow up. Very relaxed tone and common questions.
- What does success mean to you?
- Do you have grassroots experience?
- Tell me about your work experience that applies to this job
Store Manager
First, I spoke with a recruiter. It was pretty laid back. We went over my work history, experience, and pay expectations. I mentioned I needed to be close to my current rate, and they said that was within their hiring range. They told me to expect an email or call within two weeks. The next week, I got a voicemail from someone responding to an application I'd submitted. He gave his name and number but not the company. I had to ask what company he was with when I called back. He was incredibly rude from the start, acting like I was wasting his time. He asked a few quick questions and immediately brought up pay. He said he could only offer a certain amount, which was $10k less than I asked for. I told him I couldn't take the position at that salary, and he just said goodbye. A really rude person.
- Can you tell me about your work experience and skills?
- What are your salary expectations?
- What is the minimum salary you would accept?
Store Manager
Got contacted by a store manager in TN for the first interview. She was super nice and answered all my questions, explaining the job and company well. She then sent my info to the district manager in Atlanta. I met him early the next week. He showed up in really casual clothes (jeans, hoodie, old baseball cap). We realized it wouldn't be a good fit because he was too laid-back and I'm more high-energy. My advice if you get an interview: dress super casually.
- What motivates your interest in this role and why are you looking to move from your present job?
- Could you describe the qualities of a strong employee and how you would identify them during an interview?
- What attributes define a successful employee?
