Started the interview really excited. Was asked a lot about my previous company, stuff I'm not supposed to share. I was pushed to answer a question that didn't make sense and when they didn't like my first answer, they made me give another. This ended up with me talking about personal stuff I wasn't ready to, like a mentor and a death I was still dealing with. They asked my age and said I was too young for a manager role. I was leaving a management job then, and their managers were only a couple years older, but they were all men. I felt belittled the whole time and left really upset about how the manager treated me, especially since I liked the company. I haven't shopped there since because the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

I had a phone interview, but the recruiter was late. They asked basic questions that didn't really let me show how my experience fit the job. The recruiter wasn't very conversational and didn't ask follow-up questions. It felt more like a check-the-box screening, maybe they already had someone internal for the role.
