I was used as a test subject for their data collection. Shortly after applying, I was sent two assessments and given a week to complete them. I finished them the same day, and 24 hours later, I got a notification that the role was already filled. I get that these assessments are their product, but it feels disrespectful to collect user data so late in the recruiting process. This whole thing made me feel like I was just a free test subject for their data collection.

I applied online via LinkedIn and got an email reminder to take an online assessment within 24 hours. I expected a video assessment based on the email but it turned out to be a computer-generated assessment without video. The assessment had two parts. The first part was like an IQ test with fill-in-the-blank sentences, SAT-type math problems (one with incorrect answer choices), and shape pattern questions. The second part was a Myers-Briggs type assessment. Despite the local fires affecting the area, I was surprised to receive an email the next day stating they were moving forward with other candidates, likely because many hiring managers were impacted. While I got to see their product and wish them the best, I believe these assessments are not effective for sales roles, as a phone call is a better way to assess candidates. Many hiring managers use assessments as a lazy screening method before a call. While practicing assessments can improve test-taking skills, it doesn't assess real-life sales experience.

Presentation

The interview process utilized their company's service platform, which was glitchy and buggy. After submitting a video interview, I received no response until the deadline approached. A system bug caused the same interview to be sent again, making it seem like a second round, but it was not. This wasted my time repeating the same questions. Their automated system, meant to showcase their product, needs improvement. After two weeks, another automated email informed me I was not selected. Given the buggy system, I'm glad I wasn't chosen. Glassdoor reviews suggest current CSMs are overburdened, indicating potential issues. It might be a company to avoid. Good luck to anyone considering it.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

The interview process involved a 30-minute screening with a Senior Product Manager and Senior Engineer. Following that, there was an online assessment which was a timed, product-based test with "brain-trainer" style games assessing visual, language, and math aptitudes. The final stage was a roughly 1.5-hour on-site panel interview. This included meeting with 2 product managers, 3 engineers, and the CTO for a relaxed but guided Q&A session where each interviewer had prepared questions. The overall experience was well-organized and pleasant.
