First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Credit One Bank.
VP of Brand Communications
Started with a recruiter screen, then had a few Zoom calls with marketing execs (SVP Marketing, CMO, VP Marketing). Then an onsite interview with the same people plus the person I'd be managing. It was weird because that person didn't know I'd be their boss. Also, that person said nothing good about the role or company and actively discouraged me from taking the job. Everyone kept saying how bad it is to live in Las Vegas, but they wanted me to move there. The final red flag was after months of interviews and jumping through hoops, they went totally silent. No rejection email, nothing. I'm glad it fell through though. How they treat executive candidates shows how they treat everyone else and their customers. Not surprising from a sub-prime credit card company.
- Are you willing to relocate to Las Vegas?
Business Analyst
First, there was an HR call and a short interview. Then, I had an interview with a Pega developer about my skills, background, and future plans. This interview was in 2021. They were looking for a Pega Developer, and although I didn't have Pega experience, I was hired because of my other technical knowledge.

Software QA Engineer
I interviewed with Credit One twice. The first time, a staffing company set it up. It was a group interview and the interviewers didn't seem thrilled to be there. They asked me about test plans and test cases. A few days later, the staffing company told me Credit One wasn't moving forward with my application, with no specific reasons given. About a year later, a different recruiter contacted me for another interview. This time, the hiring manager called me. He was friendly, and the interview went really well, even discussing potential projects. However, the next day, the recruiter informed me that the feedback was that I wouldn't be a good fit.
- What's the difference between a bug and a defect?
- Can you explain how you would create test cases for the xyz project?
- Describe a challenging situation from your professional past and what you would have done differently.
Fraud Investigator
I went through a 3-round interview process for a role I was really excited about. It included a call with HR, then two interviews: one with the hiring manager and four other team members, and the final one with the VP and another team member. The first contact was an unscheduled call from HR to chat about my background and interest. Then, a 50-minute interview with the hiring manager and four others where we had a smooth, engaging conversation and they asked thoughtful questions. The last 50-minute interview was with the VP and one other person, and it was also smooth and engaging with thoughtful questions. After all this, despite feeling good about it, I didn't hear anything back for two weeks, no update, no rejection, nothing. It just ended without closure.
