It took about three weeks from when I applied until they set up a phone interview. I had to do a recorded video interview that I needed to finish within three days. HR emailed me to set up a phone interview. When the scheduled time for the phone interview came, I waited and waited for them to call. Since I didn't have HR's phone number, I emailed the recruiter twice in about half an hour while I was waiting. No call came, and no email reply either. I'd already read over 50 bad reviews for this company, a lot of them saying people often don't know if they're getting fired from one day to the next. Makes me think, maybe the recruiter got fired today? As people interviewing, we know first impressions matter. Well, that goes for the company too. This first impression felt rude and unprofessional, and it just confirms all those negative reviews from past employees.

I applied for an entry-level gig and heard back from HR pretty quick, maybe within a week. We chatted for about 20 minutes - it was a nice conversation - and they asked me a few things. Then they said they'd let me know in two business days if they wanted to move forward with an in-person interview. I got a call the very next day, which was great, and set up the in-person interview for the following week. That interview had a writing part and then a pretty long in-person chat. The interviewer was super nice, which made it way less scary than I expected. We clicked so well that after we finished and I did some paperwork, they offered me the job right then and there.

This was the longest, most drawn-out, and unnecessary interview process ever! After being recruited by a headhunter for Credible, I first had to record a video introducing myself and my skills. Then, I had a phone interview with a recruiter who didn't seem to know much about the position. This call was easy, covering my work history, education, and some behavioral questions. The strangest part was next: a take-home assignment requiring a comparative analysis of contract management systems (3 pages), a business letter threatening contract termination over non-payment, and a memo on improving scalability. I completed these assignments, which took up valuable time. I got positive feedback on my written work and initial interviews. The final step was a 'hiring event' to meet the hiring manager. When I arrived, there was food and other candidates. The CEO was supposed to present, but the VP did it instead. I'd read bad reviews, and they were accurate. The VP was aloof, barely made eye contact, and was distracted by her phone and computer while I answered strange questions unrelated to the job, like 'Who's your superhero?'. It felt like the decision solely depended on whether she liked me. The interview was only about 10 minutes, mostly spent looking at the top of her head. She never smiled but asked if I was a nice person. I left knowing I wouldn't get an offer, which was fine. The whole process felt dubious and underhanded. I suspect they used my written work as a learning tool. I wouldn't recommend this ridiculous process to anyone, especially when the final decision rests with a VP who seems clueless about the role. WORST INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE EVER.

I got an invite to record myself answering questions live, which was cool and new. Then, I had a recruiter phone chat that was super informative and explained what was next. After that, I got a skills test to do in 3 days, which made me understand the role better. The next thing was a recruiting event where I met the CEO and other folks, it was a great experience. Finally, I got an offer within a few days. It was a unique interview process, but it helped me see what they're looking for. I really liked how fast everything moved, getting an offer in under 2 weeks!
