First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CRB.
Process Engineer
I want to start off by saying the recruiter was really incompetent. She didn’t know what questions to ask, verbally offered me a job, then ghosted me for weeks, and finally said they wouldn’t hire me. The team I interviewed with was understanding, and I was excited to join them. I contacted one of the employees, and my resume got passed along to the recruiter. Things moved quickly after that, and I interviewed with the recruiter, who then set up an interview with the team. Finally, there was a wrap-up interview with the team lead and some other team members.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Which project are you most proud of and explain why?
Process Engineer
I had a very comfortable interview with three gentlemen from the biotech, pharma, and food/beverage sectors. They asked thoughtful questions that weren't just read from a list. The interview lasted about 45 minutes, feeling more like a normal conversation than a formal interview. Their company culture seems relaxed, which I believe helps employees enjoy their work and be intrinsically motivated. I'm very impressed with CRB as a company and the Kansas City location. The cross-functionality of employees between branches is a really appealing aspect.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Industrial Engineer
It was a virtual panel interview with four people: a Data Analyst, an Industrial Engineer, someone with an unknown position, and someone from Upper Management. The interview was scheduled for 1 hour and 30 minutes. It was a standard interview plus a technical interview, which I wasn't told to prepare for beforehand. Overall, I think this company could be a great place to work, but they need to improve some things. It was an average interview with interviewers who were not great. CRB should really train their employees on how to conduct interviews that are fair and help the candidate succeed. It felt like I was a step behind because none of the team seemed enthusiastic and they didn't offer any useful feedback. I never got any feedback, even after reaching out multiple times via email and direct message. About 3-4 weeks later, I got an automated rejection email with no explanation. It was hard to tell if the job description really matched what they were looking for in the role after the interview. One panelist was on time, but the other three were a few minutes late. We started with introductions and then went straight into my resume. I gave an overview of my resume, and they asked specific questions to learn more. Then came the technical part where they asked me questions, though the panelists didn't seem to have prepared questions themselves. After an hour and 15 minutes, I got to ask them some questions with 15 minutes left. However, they turned my questions back on me, and I ended up answering them. I did learn some good things from the answers I received, but I felt rushed when asking my questions. It seems like a good company if you're the right fit for them, but their talk about them being the right fit for you is nonsense. The interviewers seemed uninterested, lacked energy, and appeared to have other things on their minds.
- Can you tell me about the lean six sigma tools you have previously utilized?
- What is your background with discrete-event simulations?
- When faced with a specific scenario aimed at streamlining a manufacturing process, what actions would you take?
