It was more about the vibe. I did my research and the interview went smoothly. I got the job the next day and have been working here since. I think they look for people who are bilingual, but they don't really care about your working experiences.

I was first contacted by a recruiter for a phone interview. It seemed to go well, but I never heard back, leading me to believe I wasn't a good fit. Then, about a month or two later, a different recruiter reached out for the exact same position. I didn't even realize it was the same role until they sent over the job descriptions, which felt like a major red flag due to their lack of professionalism. They mentioned some changes to the role and still wanted to schedule an interview, but then they completely missed the scheduled time. This really highlighted how disorganized and unprofessional they were, failing to manage even a basic interview process.

I interviewed for a story editor role and my initial conversation with Joey about salary went well, he verbally agreed to my proposed amount. A job offer was extended verbally and then a formal offer was sent a few days later, but it was for $10k less than discussed. When I tried to discuss this discrepancy, benefits, and other details, I was shut down. I was told my requests were 'way too much for this position' and then received no further answers to my questions. For comparison, I received two offers from other companies that same week for the salary we originally discussed. This is unusual behavior for the industry, especially given my ten years of experience.

I talked about the job, and answered some general questions about what I've done. It was pretty chill and not too intense. They said I could move on right away. Then we talked about the writing task. The interview itself was laid-back, but the writing assignment was tough because I wasn't sure what the hiring managers would really be looking for. I ended up writing a few versions before picking one to submit. I'm not always the best at picking the right one on the first go.
