Store Manager
I applied online and then the DM emailed me for an interview. We met a few days later at a Gymboree for the interview. It was the DM and 3 store managers from a different district. The interview was pretty standard but all they cared about was the numbers on paperwork. They didn't care about my customer service or marketing ideas, etc. It just wasn't the right fit for me.
- Regarding your current role, which reports do you typically review?
Assistant Store Manager
So I had an interview with the store manager first. Then I met with the District Manager. After that, there was a phone interview with another District Manager. They asked about my work history, but honestly, they were way more interested in my childhood. They wanted to know about my favorite outfit growing up, what my favorite childhood shoes looked like, and my favorite childhood memory.
- Can you tell me about your favorite outfit from when you were a child?
- What did your favorite childhood shoes look like?
- What is your favorite memory from your childhood?
Store Manager
Got a call from the District Manager about the new store manager job. Went in for an interview at the mall. Then had another interview with a different DM. After that, I had a phone interview with the Regional Manager. Finally, I got the offer and accepted it after thinking it over.
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with a difficult customer, including how you managed it and the result?
- What would you do if you discovered an employee was stealing from the company, and who would you report it to?
