First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cracker Barrel.
Store Manager
It was a pretty chill interview, mostly focused on leadership. We dove into topics like accountability and making sure guests are happy. The whole thing took about an hour, and they even offered me food and drinks. We also chatted about the benefits package.
- How do you motivate your team?
Retail Manager
A recruiter reached out via email and we had a quick phone chat. Then, I had a phone screen with the district manager where we discussed my background and experience. After that, I was invited to interview at the store with the opening a week later. The interview was at the store, and it felt very casual, like talking to a friend. The manager showed me around the stock room and the sales floor and introduced me to some employees who were busy with inventory. She said she liked me and would call me the following week after finishing her last interview. However, it's been almost two weeks, and I haven't heard anything, which I found unprofessional.
- In your prior job, were you more focused on guests or tasks?
- What metrics did your company utilize?
Store Manager
I talked to a recruiter first, then I had to do this job assignment thing. After that, I got a call to set up an interview with a District Manager. Then I had another interview with a different District Manager. They submitted me for a background check and drug screen. Then I got an email saying I got the job, which was cool. After that, there's like 5 weeks of MIT training before they actually place you in a store.
