Credit Analyst
Lending money, yes... Taking reckless risks, no. In a bank, the credit analyst studies the collateral offered by individuals and companies seeking a loan. They conduct an in-depth study of the client's financial situation: what are their revenues? What is their personal contribution? For a company, they examine its accounts, highlight its strengths and weaknesses, and assess its default risks. They verify that the operation will be profitable for their bank. Then they determine the commercial conditions of the loan: interest rate, duration, monthly payment amount...

- Could you describe your previous work experiences?
Credit Analyst
Got a phone screen, then a personality test, and finally a 2-hour (or more) interview. The first 15 minutes of the interview were spent reviewing the personality test results, after which the recruiter shared their thoughts and asked for mine. The rest of the interview covered my experience, skills, background, failures, successes, and professional goals.
- What has been your biggest failure?
- What has been your greatest success?
- Do you prefer working alone or in a team?
Credit Analyst
I applied online through the company website, just submitting my CV and a cover letter. They seem to prioritize candidates with international experience or those who speak French. First, I had a phone chat with an HR recruiter where they asked some basic questions about my motivation. After that, I met with my future supervisor. This part really depends on who you end up working with. My boss was half French, so he immediately tested my language skills and checked my understanding of accounting basics and financial analysis. He also gave me a quick overview of the company and the goals of the department I'd be joining. Three days later, I got a call confirming my offer, and I started the internship the following week.
- What makes you want to work for CA rather than BNP?
