Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CPI.
Scientist
The first stage was a 30-minute Q&A session conducted via Teams with a panel. They asked a mix of technical and general questions.
- Could you elaborate on the technical details of upstream processes and scale-up?
Scientist
I applied for an entry level scientist role through an agency and it took them a while to get back to me. Then I was invited for a face to face interview with two Senior Scientists who are the team leads. The interview was pretty straightforward, a mix of technical and competency questions, plus a data analysis task. It took ages to hear back, and by then I had another offer I almost lost while waiting for them to decide.
- Can you tell me about chromatography?
Senior Scientist
The interview process had three rounds. First, there was an online meeting about 30-45 minutes long discussing the role fit, salary expectations, and the company profile. Then, I had an onsite behavioral and technical interview that lasted about 2.5 hours, followed by a 30-minute visit to the R&D facility. Finally, after some negotiation meetings with HR and the hiring manager, I got the offer letter.
- Can you describe a situation where you faced a work conflict and how you handled it?
- How do you approach interactions with customers?
- What is your experience with managing intellectual property-related issues?
