First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Corvus Insurance.
Product Manager
Started with a quick call with a recruiter that felt like more of a check to see if I was still interested and a good fit. They said things would move fast, and they did, with four interviews in the next week. All of them were pretty chill, with just a couple of slightly random but still conversational questions. After that, I had a bunch of one-on-one chats with people from engineering, ML, data science, and product. These were super casual. I got the most useful info from the technical folks. The product team wasn't super clear about their day-to-day or how they handle priorities and manage tasks.
- Can you discuss your previous product management background?
- What motivates your interest in this role?
- Have you researched our company and its work?
Product Manager
I was referred for this role. First, there was an initial phone screen. Then, I had 3 more interviews with the hiring manager and some other team members. No exercises or work samples were given to showcase skills. It took almost 2 weeks after the last interview, and I followed up a lot, but then I was told they had filled the position. They mentioned they were "trying to find a fit elsewhere" for me. I even tried reaching out to the VP of the area, but I didn't hear back at all during the whole process. The whole thing lasted over a month.
- Can you share an example of a project you managed from start to finish with a team?
Product Manager
Applied online and got a response in under a week. First, I spoke with a recruiter who told me about the company and the job, and we talked about if I'd be a good fit culture-wise. Then, I had several interviews with people on the product team and others in the company. The last step was a final interview where we discussed the offer, and I accepted verbally!
- What metrics would you use to track the success of a product or feature?
- When faced with a critical bug that needs fixing, how would you decide whether to prioritize new feature development or the bug fix?
