Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Corning.
Supply Chain Planner
Applied on Corning’s website and less than a week later, got an email from the recruiter to schedule a 30 min video chat interview with the hiring manager and a colleague. After that, I had a second phase where I presented for 40 mins to a panel and then had 5 individual 30-45 min interviews. A few days later, I received the offer. The presenting part was the only thing that was challenging, I'm not sure how well I would have done without doing some research beforehand.
- Describe a process improvement you've made in your current role.
- Share an instance where you advocated for a customer.
- Tell me about a time you experienced failure and how you adapted to it.
Supply Chain Analyst
I thought I did really well on the 1st phone interview, they moved me to a 2nd phone interview. They then said they have another location they want me to interview for... here I go with another TWO interviews. A total of 4 interviews and NO call telling me I wasn't a good fit, I had to inquire after a month of waiting. I was also unimpressed by their HR who also sent grammar mistakes and uncapitalized letters in the email.
- Can you describe a time you had a conflict at work?
Demand Planner
I had a recruiter phone interview, then a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had an on-site interview with 4-5 managers and colleagues. The on-site interviews were one-on-one, really friendly and relaxed. I was impressed by the friendly culture and the hospitality from the department director and another manager I met in the elevator, which confirmed it's a great company.
- Can you describe your previous experiences and background?
- Could you share some of the challenges you've faced in forecasting?
