So I applied for a Recruiter role and talked to Ryan. He told me upfront that I'd need to start in Sales, then do Training & Development, and finally move into Recruitment/HR. Honestly, if you need sales people, you should advertise for sales, not recruiters. I get that recruiters need to know the company's products, but you don't need to be a salesperson to understand that. A summary of how you work and what you offer should be enough for a qualified HR person. It seems like the current recruiter isn't doing their job well or just following orders. For a direct marketing company, you should value word-of-mouth. I'm definitely going to warn people about interviewing here and let them know the main opening is for sales, and they advertise for something that might happen way down the line. It's messed up to advertise for a recruiter and then try to hire for sales. It's unethical, or at least be upfront in the job posting. This is misleading. You're wasting people's time, energy, money, and effort. People can usually tell genuine reviews from fake ones.

Had a face-to-face interview with the President, Ryan Caugherty, which lasted about 20 to 30 minutes. It was a great conversation where we talked about sports, family, and goals, and mostly about me. I got a call back for a second round interview, which I hadn't done before, so I thought it would be a good idea to 'see it to believe it'. I went out with one of the guys (Trent) and observed sales being made. I thought the sales approach was pretty simple and non-aggressive, which was my biggest concern, but observing it answered that for me.

I interviewed here a few months back, and it was one of my first real job interviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The interviewer was super vague the whole time and didn't really explain the job duties. I figured out why they were so unclear after doing some research post-interview: it was a commission-based sales role selling Direct TV equipment in a Best Buy, with training to become an 'Account Executive' eventually. Total scam, don't bother.

The interview process had 3 steps. First, we had some phone conversations where they got to know me and gave me basic info. Then I came in for the first interview where we went over more specifics. The second interview involved shadowing an employee to see how they work in more detail. Finally, they asked me about my goals, why I wanted to work at Core, and why they should hire me. They made their decision based on my answers.
