General Manager
I had a great interview, very calm and professional with the recruiter. The interview lasted 30 minutes. At the beginning, it was a bit tense, but the recruiter asked questions to ease my nervousness. I recommend interviewing in a calm place and preparing for questions about your last role.

Assistant General Manager
This interview process felt like a complete waste of time. I had an initial 1-on-1 meeting with the General Manager, which went well. About a month later, they contacted me again and asked me to come in for an assessment test. I completed the test but never heard back from them. Throughout the process, the hiring manager kept complimenting my experience and mentioning how I'd easily find another job. I suspect they already had an internal candidate for promotion and were just going through the motions to meet HR requirements. It was frustrating to be given false hope when they were clearly set on someone else. They should just promote their chosen person and not waste other candidates' time.

General Manager
I applied online and was contacted for a phone interview about a week later. My interview with Mr. Lawton went great, and after several online assessments and visits to the yard, I was scheduled to meet him in person. I was really excited about this career opportunity and prepared extensively. When I arrived at the yard, I had to wait a bit. Mr. Lawton then came out, screened me, and went back inside without greeting me. Despite this odd customer service experience, I remained focused on the potential to improve the yard. The interview proceeded well, and I was already thinking about how to elevate the business. However, at the end, he mentioned my smiling might not be a good fit for the office. The next step was supposed to be a call with the VP, but I never heard back from COPART after that, not even an email, call, or text. I even sent several emails to the RM to confirm the position was filled before moving on, but received no response. It felt very disrespectful. I believe smiling is important in customer service, even when things are tough. I prefer earning respect through consideration, knowledge, and making necessary tough decisions, not through rudeness. This was their loss.
