Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Convoy.
Operations Specialist
The interview process was quick and simple. The recruiter was great about keeping me updated on each step. Follow ups were really fast, and the whole thing took about 3 weeks from the first call to accepting the offer.
- Tell me about a project you managed, either for work or school, that didn't go as planned. What was your part in it, why do you think it failed, and what did you take away from the experience?
Operations Specialist
I had a phone interview, then a homework assignment. I didn't move on to the next stage. The assignment took me several hours and involved three case studies. I really enjoyed it and was excited about the job. About a week after I submitted it, I asked for an update and was told I wasn't selected for an onsite interview. I asked for feedback twice, but the recruiter never replied. It felt like they didn't respect the time and effort I put in. Convoy can do this because they are growing and well-regarded, but it makes me hesitant to look for jobs there in the future.
- Tell me about your general experience and behavioral background.
Operations Specialist
HR reached out about three weeks after I applied to set up a phone interview with Convoy. The interviewer was late, which I figured was okay since maybe a meeting ran over. But during the interview, he was dismissive and seemed checked out. He cut the interview short because he was being kicked out of his room. He cut me off and the whole thing felt disorganized. To me, the whole experience seemed unprofessional and like they didn't value my time.
- Can you share an instance where you failed and the lessons you took away from it?
