Sales Associate
I applied to this job through an ad on craigslist when the store first opened in Hawaii, but now they only take applications from their website. They called me pretty soon after I submitted my resume for a pre-screening/phone interview. They mainly just verified my resume and asked about my availability. After that, I was asked to come in for a group interview. My advice for interviews is to dress the part: don't wear business attire, be a rebel and wear your favorite Chucks. Also, don't show up too early, 5-7 minutes before is perfect. Be on the ball, listen carefully, and don't look surprised. Just relax and be yourself!
- Can you share an instance where you experienced workplace conflict?
- Describe a situation where you couldn't finish a task.
- How did you handle a challenging customer interaction?

I applied online, and the store called me about three days later. The manager said he would review applications the next day but since I was on the phone, he asked me to come in the following Monday for an interview. It was a group interview where whoever wanted to answer first did, and everyone had to answer the questions. There were only four questions, all situational, and one was the "manager's most important question." After the interview, he asked if we had any questions. He said he would call those that got the job later that night.
- Tell me about a time you initiated a conversation with someone you didn't know.
- Can you share an instance where a coworker behaved inappropriately at work?
- How did you handle a situation where you were unclear about instructions?

I applied online about a week ago, probably on a Wednesday. I got a call on Monday the 29th for an interview scheduled for the next day. It was a group interview with four other people. It felt pretty relaxed, but we still had to answer questions as they went around. It was mostly about getting to know us and seeing our personalities. So, just be yourself, relax, and don't give those generic answers. Make sure you know about the company – you gotta know who you're applying to work for, right? They mentioned there were more group interviews happening that day and the upcoming Thursday. We'd get an email with a background check application, which is how they let you know if you got the offer. I got my email the same night I interviewed.
- Can you share an instance where you received constructive criticism?
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at Converse?
