Excellent process. Store manager was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed how organized the process was. Great environment and people. They shared the benefits of the job and what a day-to-day is like.
- What does Converse mean to you?
Operations Manager
The hiring process took over a month, starting from my application on Feb 20th and ending with the job offer on March 30th. About 2-3 days after applying online, I received a call from what I assume was the district HR manager, who handles talent for Nike/Converse. We discussed my background, current role, and salary expectations. She was upfront about the position's salary range, around 40K+. She mentioned she'd connect with the store manager, who would then reach out to me. Around 4 days later, the store manager contacted me for a 1:1 interview. She asked a few straightforward questions, which seemed easy for a qualified candidate. Following that, she scheduled a panel interview for me about two weeks later. The store manager helped me prepare by practicing questions beforehand. The actual panel interview was a conference call with three district employees while I was at home. They questioned me on the company's seven core competencies. After I asked them questions, I heard back from the store manager about 3 days later, saying the panel went well and that the District Manager wanted to speak with me for the final step. He called two days after that for a brief conversation about my current job, my motivation for joining Converse, and my approach to coaching, developing, and motivating my team to hit goals and drive metrics. About four days after that call, the store manager offered me the job. The compensation was good and higher than my current pay.
- Describe a situation where you and your manager had differing views on a task. How was this resolved, and who initiated the conversation?
- How do you inspire your team to meet objectives? Additionally, share an instance where you had to guide someone through a challenge.
- Can you provide an example of when you coached and developed an individual, leading to their increased success?

There were 3 interviews. The hiring manager wasn't available so I was interviewed by a random store manager instead. One of the questions seemed really random and I couldn't see how it was relevant to working at a retail store.
- Tell me about a time you didn't know what to do.
