Interviewed with the Ops Manager and Client Svcs Manager. Then had a second round with the Senior Ops Manager who seemed to have no interest in promoting internally and instead brought in an external candidate.

I found the role on LinkedIn and applied through the company's website. About five days later, an HR person reached out. I know some people who used to work there, and they mentioned that most external roles are entry-level, which didn't seem to be the case here. I also chatted with one of their recruiters at a career fair. The first question was about my resume, followed by salary expectations. My answer was apparently too high, and they seemed to lose interest, as the pay range ($20s-$30s) felt pretty entry-level to me, making me wonder about the pay for the people reporting to this role. I mentioned I might still be interested depending on growth opportunities. Then they asked why I'd be a good fit. After I answered, the recruiter said that was all they had and asked if I had questions. I had several prepared, but after they couldn't answer my first two, I decided to save the rest for a potential second interview, which was frustrating.
