First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Convergys.
Accounts Manager
I had an interview scheduled for 3pm and arrived 15 minutes early. However, I ended up waiting for almost an hour because the interviewer was busy on the phone. Eventually, two other employees conducted the interview. They didn't seem familiar with my resume or the position I applied for. Even after the generic competency questions, my original interviewer was still unavailable. It was a very unprofessional recruitment process, and I'd advise others to avoid this company.

Team Manager
If you're a current employee going for a promotion during your shift, you'll meet with the operations managers, another manager from the floor, and someone from HR. They'll take turns asking you questions, and you'll answer to the best of your ability while they take notes. The questions are pretty generic, but they're hoping you'll give generic answers. They want specific details: which agents you've worked with, what behaviors you've coached, how you coached them, and what the results were before and after. The better you answer these, the more likely you are to get the position or be a serious contender. Usually, there are a lot of women in the room. They want to see your personality too, because they'll be working closely with you and want to make sure you fit their idea of a workplace. Show your personality, but be conservative because they don't reward outgoing personalities, no matter how talented.
- Can you share an instance of an agent you mentored and the coaching methods you used, along with the outcomes before and after?
- Could you detail an agent's development, your coaching approach, and the resulting changes?
- Tell me about an agent you helped grow and how you coached them, including the results.
Case Manager
You email them, they call you back, then you go in for two interviews and lots of paperwork once hired. They do a keyboard speed test. The people there were really nice and answered everything I asked quickly. Make sure to bring your IDs and wear semi-casual clothes. The process might take a bit but it's easy to follow.
- Tell me about your previous job and the reason for leaving.
- In five years, where do you envision your career path?
- What distinctive skills or qualities do you possess that set you apart from others?
