First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Convergys.
Call Center Agent
The hiring process was pretty simple. I filled out an application online and was called in for what I thought was an interview. I had a couple of tests to take on a computer in the recruiting office. I was called back a couple of days later for a second interview at which time I spoke with a recruiter that asked pretty general questions.
- Were there any questions that were really difficult or unexpected?
Call Center Agent
First I had a phone interview where I had to talk about a movie I liked for at least 5 sentences. After that, they told me to come back the next day to drop off my resume and take some tests. I remember taking two computer tests and a written test that covered computer skills, how I'd handle situations, and personal questions. After passing the tests, I was scheduled for a final interview. Although I didn't pass the final interview, they offered me a free 10-day communication skills training. After the training, I'll get another chance for a final interview with Convergys.
- Could you discuss the pros and cons of being a call center agent?
Call Center Agent
They just asked general questions like if I have experience handling situations. There was a phone interview, since the job is on the phone, to see if I could verbally connect with the interviewer. Appearance doesnt matter. I got an offer at the end. They asked both short and long answer questions.
- How effectively do you manage stressful situations?
