I submitted my application online in late December and heard back within a few days to schedule a phone interview. The interview itself lasted about 30 minutes and wasn't focused on my prior research. Instead, it delved into topics like numerical methods, a 1-D fluid problem where I had to explain the governing equations and simplification of terms, compressible flow, and probability. It reminded me a lot of my PhD qualifying exams. I felt I did alright, but the outcome about 10 days later was disappointing.
