Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Convene.
Production Manager
First, there was a quick intro about the company. Then, it was a speed round of interviews with people from different departments. It was a fun and innovative way to make the interview feel like a conversation and also a great way to learn more about the people you might work with.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five to seven years, and do you envision yourself as a General Manager at Convene if you remain with the company?
Production Manager
First, there was a phone screen, then an in person interview the following week. After meeting two really nice employees and what I thought was a good interview, I received absolutely nothing, no feedback or status updates, even after a few well-crafted and timely requests for info. I have to say I'm very disappointed by the lack of professionalism. Certainly not living up to their GRIT.
- Have you worked with BEOs before?
Production Manager
I first chatted with some HR folks on the phone. Then, they had me come to a networking event they were hosting to check out their new LA spot. That's where I met some people from the NY offices and heard about their experiences at the company. After that, I talked to two people I'd be working with – one who would be my boss and another person doing the same job I was going for.
- What is an area you are actively trying to improve in your professional development?
